Vtg Japanese Haori Himo Kimono Accessory
This is a Japanese vintage braided silk haori himo. One of many different styles of kumihimo cords, it is white at the top with a sky blue bottom and tassel. White and a few other colors are braided into the blue section for accent. This haori himo is made of two separate pieces that comes already knotted together in a square pattern that showcases the intricate braid pattern and mix of colors. It comes with S-hooks for attaching to the haori.
A haori himo is a decorative cord, chain, or string that holds the kimono's haori (jacket) closed and in position. There is a string tie type, a type of glass ball passed through a braided cord, and recently a magnetic type. They attach to the haori via loops at on the jacket's collar using small clasps or hooks.
